ただいま、月だらけ
そう思った日

Design idea for Logo Competition

去年の夏に制作した、

2020年ドバイ国際博覧会のロゴデザイン案

採用はされず

すっかり忘れていたけれど

今日、ふと目にして

なかなか

ドバイの景色に浮かぶ太陽に見えるよ、
と思ったのでした

[デザイン コンセプト]

わたしたちにとって馴染みの深い、シンプルで美しい円に奥行きを与えたいと考えました。 
文化・歴史・技術・生命・そして人々の心のつながりを無数の線で表し、重ね、ひとつの赤い球を描きました。  

日本の空に朝日が昇るころ、ドバイはまだ夜空の中ですが、その5時間後にはかならず、まったく同じ太陽が空に現れます。  

異なる文化を持ち、遠く離れた場所で暮らしていても、それぞれの風景の中には共通の太陽がある。 

そんな、わたしたちにとって変えようのない偉大なつながりをロゴ・シンボルマークで表現しました。 

球を構成する線はすべて、100年以上も昔の日本の画期的な発明である、ガリ版(謄写版)で描いています。

[Design concept]

---

First of all, I wanted circle at center of the national flag of Japan to have it’s own depth.

The red sphere is consist of hundreds of lines which express several connections of culture, history, technology, environment, lives and people’s mind. We are all connected each other, and living in the same world.  

There is morning sun comes up in Japan, and five hours later, people see the exactly same sun in Dubai.  

We always have same sun in different places - that’s the unchangeable and huge connection of us.

By the way,  the sphere is created with “Gariban” a kind of Mimeograph printing that have been invented in Japan over 200 years ago.
